Frequently Asked Questions

A great, first step in making lifestyle changes is to ask questions. Here are a few answers to some of those common questions asked by others just starting out on their journey to better health. If you have a question that isn’t listed here, please reach out to me, I’d love to help you find an answer.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

The initial appointment will be one hour long and will include going over labs, diagnoses, weight history, symptoms, goals, typical breakfast/lunch/dinner, nutrition education, and assessment/recommendations.

Who can benefit from nutrition counseling?

Anyone with chronic symptoms throughout the body, those who struggle with chronic disease or who want a healthier lifestyle.

What is a registered dietitian vs. a nutritionist?

A Registered Dietitian has a degree in Nutrition, has worked in an internship, and has passed the Registered Dietitian exam.  A person who calls themselves a nutritionist has a certificate from any of a number of classes that are not as comprehensive as the Registered Dietitian route.

Do you take insurance?

Currently, I am not a provider through any insurance companies. I can however provide a receipt that clients can submit to their insurance company. 

Do you accept HSA and FSA funds?

 Please refer to your specific company for more information.  Each is different in their set of requirements. A doctor’s note may be required.

Do you offer food sensitivity testing?

Do you work with men and children?

 I work with men and women, ages 16 and up.
